If you’re overweight, and just starting to exercise, it is really easy to injury yourself. I like to walk, have decent hiking boots and guess what? My legs are still screwed if I do a really long hike. Not just “that good burn”, actual muscle strains and joint pain which can last for weeks. Please remember that pushing and injuring yourself are different things. Listen to your body and rest if you are injured. Being overweight doesn’t mean that you deserve to be in pain.
